l was looking at your lovely moving film on Frank Moore, that there are some similarities between him and me in that l had Polio when l was 7 years old which affected my right hand, l am also trapped inside a body racked with Parkinson'rs Disease and since l was diagnosed l have had a burst of creativity in that
(a) l wrote a book of memoirs of my time as a lawyer (as yet unpublished)
(b) I started the photographic project resulting in 270 images over 7 years
(c) l did a project which comprised of writing a letter to someone different each day for a year including friends, relatives, celebrities (ie the Pope, The Queen, Prince Charles, Bill Clinton all of whom replied)
(d) I did a project involving taking a photo of someone different each day for a year
(e) I have made over 200 short films which can be viewed on my YouTube channel - http://www.youtube.com/user/tjra1951
(f) I have written over 50 poems - http://hellopoetry.com/-tim-andrews/
(g) I have a blog with almost 300 posts on it - http://timandrewsoverthehill.blogspot.co.uk/
As why I have done this, well for years I was trapped in my life as a Lawyer - l enjoyed my relationship with my clients, my staff and my partners very much - but the Law was not really my thing. When my neurologist said I could give up work, l burst into tears because suddenly, l was free and all these doors began opening in my brain and soon there were not enough hours in the day to get everything done. Now l am free and not afraid to express myself verbally, physically and artistically and seeing work like yours inspires me even more because you just DO it and leave other people to worry about the content and how extreme or explicit they might think it is.
I LOVE every moment of my life now - l love that l am writing to you in this way and potentially, you will see some of my creative output as l have seen yours.
