Child killer back to await appeal against her sentence


Walking slowly through Sydney's international terminal, the convicted child killer stared blankly ahead, ashen-faced, as she pushed through the media scrum silently.

Allyson McConnell, 34, had her mother Helen Meagher by her side and was met by two other family members, but there was no joy in her homecoming as the media peppered her with questions.

Her arrival on Air Canada flight 33 about 9am on Wednesday had brought with it a sense of freedom - but her future is still uncertain. There remain many questions.
